What is being done here
A mark is a small public statement that something specific is so. Historically the statement was struck into metal: a hallmark that named the assay office, the year, and the fineness of the gold. The reader did not need to know the master of the mint. The reader needed only to know that the mark could be looked up and that the office stood behind it.
AU-SVRN is a contemporary version of that arrangement, in markets where the offices were never built or have ceased to function.
The institution
AU-SVRN, the Au-Sovereign or Gold Sovereign, is a brand trust management company. It is the holding institution behind two operating verification brands, Humark and PuraTrust, and is structured to hold more.
The institution maintains the methodology each brand uses, the registries each brand writes to, the regulatory posture each brand inherits, and the visual system in which each brand's marks appear. Internally, this infrastructure is built as a Provenance-as-a-Service platform: a single substrate of methodology, registries, identity-binding technology, and regulatory posture, applied through different brands in different markets.
The institution does not issue consumer-facing marks of its own and is not used as a marketing seal on a child brand's product. The brand carrying the mark is the brand standing behind it. AU-SVRN stands behind the brand.
What the institution owns
- Methodology design. What gets attested, how, and by whom.
- Identity-binding technology. Biometric signing for individuals, documented attribution for suppliers and lots.
- Cryptographic and registry infrastructure. C2PA-compliant manifests, the creator registry, the lot-record schema.
- Regulatory posture. Alignment with the EU AI Act, California AB 3211, and successor instruments as they arrive.
- Plain-language translation. Methodology published in legible English alongside the technical specification.
What the institution will not do
AU-SVRN will not adjudicate truth. It will not centralise the voice of the operating brands. It will not enter a market where structural independence from the verified parties is impossible. It will not gate access to public registry lookups behind a paywall. The full list is kept on the Refusals page and is treated as binding.
The disposition
Records issued under AU-SVRN methodology are held as a public trust on a generational timescale. The institution is built so that the records outlast the company.
